New Year, Same Me

Jan 1st brings so much. The new year is bright with possibilities! Fresh starts, clean slates, & new beginnings. It's like the whole world wakes up with positive outlook.

Just like most of us, I start out the new year with big ideas. I don't like the word resolution, because they're so easily broken. So, I decided this year I'm going to go with "goals". Short term, easily obtained (if I work for them) goals.

My first goal: finish my 3rd Whole 30 ( http://whole30.com). I love this program more than I can express. Eat real food. That's the rule. This year I have a team!! I'm so excited. I mentioned to my running group that a friend and I would be starting it on the first and over 10 people joined in. It's really nice having people to vent to, ask questions with, and just genuinely be there for one another.

My second goal: Win my diet bet. As a spur of the moment decision, I signed up for a diet bet hosted by one of my favorite bloggers Mama Laughlin ( http://www.mamalaughlin.com). I have never done one before, and I don't know why I did. But here we are. The goal is to lose 4% of my body weight in 30 days. For me, that amounts to 8 lbs. An obtainable goal.
If you "win" that means you reach that 8lbs, or whatever your goal is. Then you split the pot with the other winners.

My third goal: To not let this injury set me back. For those who aren't friends with me in real life, I took a bit of a tumble. I missed the last couple stairs on my way down and lost it. Wound up rolling my left ankle both directions, getting a small avulsion fracture. So I get a pretty waking boot for the next 2-4 weeks. And minimal working out for the next 6-8 weeks.

So these are my goals, what are yours?
