So, We're here. We're finally getting into a routine and getting a hang of this thing.
Our live are finally starting to get back to normal. The movers have come and gone. I think we have 90% of our boxes unpacked. The movers have come and picked up the boxes (seriously awesome!)
Friday, FMO (facilities management office) comes to pick up the temporary furniture they had loaned us (2 couches, 2 livingroom chairs, 4 dining room chairs, a end table, and a bed w/frame). Its taken longer for them to come get it then we used it. Figures, huh?
But on the bright side. We're finally settling into a routine. I'm kind of loving life here.
Mondays & Thursdays
J and I get up with Bri and take him to work (we're still a 1 car house). Then we come home and get ready to meet up with my running group. I run from 10-1130 with the group. Then a friend and I go out to lunch. After that, we all go run errands together (its more fun that way). Then we go pick up Bri. When we get home I make dinner while Bri plays with J. By the time dinner's over its almost time for bath/bed time. We do bath/bed time, I feed J, and put him down. Most nights this is around 8pm. Then, time for homework. I'm up till 12-1am most nights.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays
These days are my favorite. They're just simple. Bri gets up and changes J and brings him to me in bed, then goes about getting ready. I feed J, and if i feel awake, i'll put him back down in his crib. If i had a rough night with homework (more often then not), I'll prop him on bri's side of the bed between me and some pillows. We get up for the day between 8-9. We go down stairs, feed sammy, get some caffeine going. J naps or plays (most days) while i work. He naps around 11. When he wakes up we walk to the grocery store and bakery. We come home and I clean the kitchen/ do dishes. J naps again around 3ish. Bri comes home around 5. and we do our night time routine.
These days are no more or less full then they were when we were in california... but it just feels different out here. I'm so content.
sure, I never feel quite 'on top' of things. But, we get through. I'm starting to really enjoy cooking again. I'm beginning to become more adventurous again. Bri's the envy of all the single guys at work. He often takes the excess leftover to work for them. I love LOVE to cook and the fact that some lonely kid out here gets some home cooked meal makes me happy.
Moral of the story, We're settling in.
Now that we're really in the swing of things, hopefully we'll be able to go on more adventures.
... stay tuned.

Welcome to my Life
Hi! My name is Heather (or Rotty). I'm a 28 year old first time mom. I've been serving in the United States Air Force Reserve for 10 years. I'm an Interior Designer, I have an AA in Interior Design and 5 sub certificates. And am currently going to school for my Bachelors of Arts in Interior Design.
This is my husband B. Hes currently Active Duty Air Force. He's going on his 12th year. Started out Air Force Reserve Enlisted and is now Active Duty Officer.
This is James (J, bubba, or whatever I feel like calling him). Our 11 week old baby. He's pretty fucking awesome. We had a rocky start. His birth was a rough and trying. but we're here. But, we made it.
Oh, and I can't forget. This is Sammy. He's our long haired dachshund. he's an 8 year old Old Fart, he's a mammas boy, and he already loves you. lol.
We've had quite the go lately. let me give you a quick timeline on where we were and where we are.
2013
March - 20ish weeks pregnant, find out we got orders to Germany
8 July - James is born
22 July - Unaccompanied Baggage picked up
28 July - Movers show up to pack our bags
29 July - Move to the Hotel on base
30 July - Movers finish
9 August - Drive home (Oregon) for leave
26 August - B flies off to Germany [ after a long battle back and forth we were forced to fly separately]
6 September - James, Sammy, and I all fly to Germany.
So here we are 24 September. We're still in TLF. We do have a place to stay, we do have our Unaccompanied baggage. but that is it.
We finally signed contract on a rental place. Which is ADORABLE. but we have nothing to fill it.
Monday we're getting a delivery from FMO with the bare necessities. but i'm really hoping our household goods aren't far behind.
I personally would like nothing more than to just be settled.
So this is us... Welcome to our life.
